I’m pleased to write you today to share important news about TWR Women of Hope with some of the ministry’s most dedicated supporters. The news heralds great promise and excitement. In this 25th-anniversary year of outreach to women around the world, we will close out one era of godly leadership while embarking on a bold new one.

At the end of 2022, Dr. Peggy Banks stepped away from her role as global director of TWR Women of Hope after being called to serve at another ministry. For six years Peggy was a strong, inspirational leader in growing the ministry to what it has become. We are sincerely thankful for Peggy’s indispensable contributions to the ministry and pray that the Lord will continue to bless and use her in her new calling.

Peggy asked us to share these parting words with you:

“I cannot explain the amount of gratitude I have for all that God has done through this global ministry and the privilege it has been to serve over such a wonderful team. The Lord has expanded our programs beyond what I could imagine and brought our teams closer together even in a pandemic.

“May you continue to sow seeds into the work that God is doing through TWR Women of Hope as we work to bring hope in Jesus to women around the world and across generations. You are a crucial part of this ministry, and I cannot thank you enough for your invaluable support.”

Praise God that the leadership position won’t remain vacant, however. It’s my privilege to announce that Susie Pek, a Brazilian native who has been serving as TWR Women of Hope coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean, will become the global director beginning in mid-February. An author, blogger and broadcaster, Susie has the experience, skills, and a passion for prayer and instilling hope in women everywhere that make her a natural fit for this critical role.

“I am thrilled to receive the marvelous task of caring for and leading TWR Women of Hope,” Susie told us. “I am so thankful to Peggy Banks and to all of our amazing global staff and volunteers who have loved our women so well. Psalm 34:5 says, ‘Those who look to the Lord are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.’ As I embark on this new journey, I look to the Lord for wisdom and guidance to help women around the world and across generations to look to Jesus, be radiant and experience his grace and hope.”

Of course, there’s lots more to know about our new global director, so I invite you to take a few minutes to look over this introduction of Susie Pek.

I can’t help but be excited about the opportunities facing TWR and its remarkably successful women’s ministry in the months and years ahead. I echo Susie’s heartfelt plea for prayer asking the Lord to guide every step as she takes up her new responsibilities in February. Please remember, too, the far-flung staff and volunteers as they rededicate themselves to the mission that began a quarter century ago.

Sincerely in Christ,

Lauren Libby
