Dear friends,

“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.” Psalm 119:114 (NIV)

Every month as I sit at my desk to write my personal letter to you, I struggle to say all that is on my heart. And every day, I continue to be blessed knowing that each of you values prayer so much that you join us in prayer every month. Thank you.

I love this passage from Psalm 119. It is so comforting to know God as our refuge and shield. It is in God’s Word that the psalmist finds hope. He knows that it will shield him from the difficult times in life. He can be assured that the promises God has given in his word will come true.

When we describe women of hope, we say:

  • A woman of hope has a heart that is centered on Jesus Christ.
  • A woman of hope looks to God for direction and wisdom.
  • A woman of hope believes in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Hope is important in every aspect of our lives and especially so in our spiritual walk with the Lord. It is because of God’s promises that we can be women of hope. We have this hope of a new life and eternity with God forever.

Today, as you come together in prayer, remember the promises of God for you and your sisters around the world. Lift up your voices and rejoice that God is our refuge and shield. Believe that whatever difficulties you are facing, you can find hope in God’s Word and his promises.

In Him our hearts rejoice,
