One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him – and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:15-19

Dear friends,

Recently, this passage from the book of Luke has touched my heart. Jesus sees this man who came back and celebrates with him, but he asks the man a question: Where are the other nine?

It is a challenge to my heart as we give thanksgiving and praise this month, and as we pray every month: Don’t you want to be the one who does not forget and who takes the time to go back to the Lord to thank him and give him praise for all the wonderful things he has done for us and TWR Women of Hope?

I want to challenge us this month to be the women who will stop today and every day to take notice of the goodness of God, the grace of God, the mercies of God and the presence of God –  and then to be thankful. We are so blessed that for 21 years, we have seen God’s faithfulness and justice in so many ways. Thousands of women in more than 120 countries have found new lives in Jesus and walked free in their hearts, knowing that now they are forgiven, valued, loved and precious in God’s sight.

Take a minute today to stop and think about the ways that God has given you, and many other women, comfort, healing, truth and hope for all eternity. Let us lift our voices, together, as we take time to go back to the Lord to give him praise and glory with a thankful heart.

May you enjoy his peace in your heart and life as you surrender to serving him in prayer with a grateful heart.

In Him our hearts rejoice,
